Friction Fire

Fire Intensive

Sometimes the flicker of a fire is more energizing than the food you cook on it, or the warmth it gives you. It touches us deeply, and has given us the ability to move as we will, to wander freely, without hesitation or doubt.  Humbling and awe-inspiring, Fire is an old friend of the human family. Enduring with nothing but a few sticks and maybe a stone is one of the most personally challenging and profoundly rewarding skills a person can ever know.

During this workshop participants learn a variety of both region-specific and universal (world-wide) friction fire methods.  A keen emphasis is placed on perfecting/mastering the bow-drill, hand-drill and fire saw methods.  With extensive amounts of guided workshop time, participants finish the program with a very confident knowledge of fire-making skills.
